Past presentations reviewed in our newsletter
Each month prior to the General
Meeting, we offer our popular help sessions at 10:00 AM
To meet the diverse needs of our
membership, we have two discussion groups. Our U.S. Research sessions are
aimed at the beginning researcher. In addition to U.S. research topics, we cover
how to get started researching your family history. At these sessions, we
discuss U.S. sources which may help you discover your ancestor's county of
origin in Ireland. Once you have this information, we invite you to attend our
Irish Research session.
An Irish Research session
is held for people who have made significant advancement with their U.S.
research and are ready to move on to their Irish research.. Over the past year,
our Irish Research sessions have covered a variety of topics such as Irish
School Records, Irish Social and Commercial Directories, and Valuation
Records.
The Forum's help sessions are
informal discussion groups where members come together to discuss their research
problems and seek guidance from more experienced members. Members use this time
to share their success stories as well as to help each other find solutions to
their problems.
Help sessions are open to
non-members, on a one time only basis, as a way of investigating the value of
the Forum to their research activities.
If you have any questions
concerning the Events you can e-mail us at Events@ifhf.org
